Matty’s Cause & Poac’s Walk for a Difference 2008

Although it was a partly cloudy & windy day on April 13, 2008 at the First Energy Park in Lakewood, you couldn’t tell by the looks on everyone’s faces at the Parents of Autistic Children, “Walk for a Difference 2008.” Everyone was there to simply support one another and have a good time while bringing awareness to this important issue.  Whether they were the parents of an autistic child, a friend, a family member, or just a supporter, they turned out in record numbers.  These great numbers of people that came out to support this worthy cause was astounding.  The looks of excitement and joy on all of the children’s faces were priceless to put it mildly.

Parents of Autistic Children, also known as POAC, was sponsoring this event with free food, entertainment, an autism resource fair, and many other wonderful and welcome surprises.  The total amount raised at this fundraiser was an enormous $153,238.  Team “Matty’s Cause” was able to raise $315.00, which will go towards support of families, teachers of children and adults with autism, and the autistic community as a whole throughout the great state of New Jersey.  All that participated on this magnificent day were proud to be walking for a great cause, “Matty’s Cause.”

AN EVENING FOR AUTISM AWARENESS

with

Gabriella’s at the Beach Restaurant

The entire Board of Trustees turned out for this one!  And “Matty’s Cause” had a fantastic evening of fundraising at Gabriella’s at the Beach Restaurant on November 17, 2006.  We had a great deal of excellent food, a few drinks, and a lot of fun and wonderful conversation.  Thanks to everyone who showed up.
It was a small affair, but thanks to the “Matty’s Cause” Board and Kim Pascarella, the owner of Gabriella’s at the Beach Restaurant, the evening was a success.  We were able to raise another $300.00 this evening and had a lot of fun doing it.
There already is talk of another fundraiser being held at Gabriella’s at the Beach Restaurant in the spring.  We hope you all can make it out for the next one and make it even more of success.

Thanks again to everyone who attended this fun event!

“Matty’s Cause”

And as always, thank you for supporting “Matty’s Cause,” a New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation.

The Jersey Shore Walk For Autism Wrap-Up

“Matty’s Cause” would like to thank everyone who supported the inaugural New Jersey Shore Walk for autism research on September 30, 2006 in Manasquan, NJ.  With more than 2,000 walkers, this event was a huge success.  All of the hard working teams contributed a total of $220,000 to Autism Speaks and this wonderful cause!!!

“Matty’s Cause” was in the top 15 percentile of fundraising teams, with nearly 120 teams total!  “Matty’s Team” goal was to raise $2,000.  This goal was surpassed with a total of $2,251 being raised by “Matty’s Team” for autism research.  This is quite an accomplishment and something we are all very proud of.  We’re very impressed and pleased by everyone’s hard work.

You can be sure that due to this great success, there will undoubtedly be more of these fantastic fundraisers to follow.  We hope to see you there again.  And as always, thank you for your support.

Thank you for supporting “Matty’s Cause!”

Matty’s Cause & Macy’s “Shop for a Cause” Wrap-Up

“Matty’s Cause” would like to extend its Thanks! to all who participated in the selling and purchasing of the Macy’s “Shop for a Cause event, held nationwide on Saturday, September 16,2006.

If our local Macy’s department store was any sign how of well this event was received nationwide (we did sell tickets to residents of both New Jersey and New York), we believe it was a great success.  Not just for “Matty’s Cause,” but for many charities nationwide.

“Matty’s Cause” sold a total of 50 tickets, raising $250.00 for this wonderful and important cause.  Since our first event with Macy’s “Shop for a Cause” was a success, we’ll be doing this event annually now.  So we’ll see you next year.

Thanks,

“Matty’s Cause”

A huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone who came out to the First Annual Matty’s Cause Hoboken Bar Night last Thursday.  The event was a lot of fun, as well as a tremendous success – we raised over $1000!   We hope everyone had as great a time as we all did.  Also a special thanks to the staff at Mulligan’s, especially Paul, Jimmy and Tom for all the hard work, and for being so accommodating.

“Matty’s Cause” will be holding numerous fundraisers throughout the years to come with hopefully one fundraiser every three to four months.  Some of the current ideas for upcoming events are as follow;

  • An autism walk,

  • An autism charity motorcycle ride,

  • An autism fundraiser dinner,

  • An autism bar/club night,

  • A night of bands playing for autism,

  • A silent and/or Chinese auction,

  • The selling of ribbons,

“Matty’s Cause” is always open to suggestion and new ideas.  Anything you would like to assist us with or get involved with would be wonderful.  Please feel free to contact us at any time.

Keep in mind that Matty needs “Matty’s Friends” to help with the organization, promotion, and running of all of these fundraisers, as well as all the others to come.  The greatest gift one can give, is of their self and time.

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon.
